5 Loaves Ministry

IVESTER creative was recently contracted by 5 Loaves Ministry of Murrieta, CA to document their school feeding program in Haiti. The goal of the project was to capture the plight of the people, the primitive living conditions, as well as the feeding program being implemented in local schools.

The location was remote, the language barrier difficult, and the people in this region are not used to seeing white people, let alone being photographed. The people of Haiti, who mainly practice the religion of Voodoo, believe that being photographed means that someone is stealing your soul. So the challenge was to make them feel comfortable while capturing striking images to encourage new corporate donorship as well as to provide current donors with footage of what their contributions are being used for.
